My Take
If you read my 2021 Reading Goals then you are aware that Khaled Hosseini is one of the six authors I wanted to try out this year. I decided to read his works in order of publication so The Kite Runner was first.
I really loved this book. One thing is for sure, Khaled Hosseini knows how to evoke one’s emotions. His description are so vivid that it made me feel like I was one with the characters, going through what they are.
The Kite Runner is one beautiful written book. Simple yet powerful sentences. Khaled Hosseini tackles social issues, and family relations as a major plot point in The Kite Runner and he does it so well, I loved it.

The characters in The Kite Runner steal the whole show; both the main and secondary ones. Each has a distinct personality and the way they are written in the story, I was impressed! I also love how Khaled Hosseini managed to get me to feel about the characters. Mostly in extremes!
I still can’t believe this was a debut book. With well written plot and great characters, The Kite Runner is a book that I’m glad I got to read, and definitely highly recommend.

Khaled Hosseini had my heart when I read A Thousand Splendid Suns. His books are so much of an emotional rollercoaster ride. As you said, he writes it in such a simple manner but so much powerful that he can numb your soul. I am yet to read this book! Dedicating a whole month to this book.

A Thousand Splendid Suns is the next book I picked but I think The Kite Runner is much better! I hope you’ll love this one just as much as I did if not more.
