My Take
Crossing In Time is the first novel in the Between Two Evil Series. I actually started out reading the ebook then switched to the audio book version which made my reading experience much better. The narrators are really good!

Can I start off by saying what a book! The plot of the book is quite fitting with what’s going on in our world right now. The book follows two characters, Isabel and Diego, who have a rich history together and they finally reconnect after years apart. With a looming pandemic, it’s up to the two of them to try and save the world. The book is described as YA fantasy but I actually think it’s NA. Which I absolutely loved. Rarely do you read fantasy solely focused on adults. Win!

I really liked the time travelling aspect. Trying to make a sense of time, like a puzzle ready to be solved. Although all the quantum physics went over my head. I love how DL Orton writes, with such ease and has brought to life such relatable characters. What with the easy banter, angst and humour, she takes you on a wonderful, trippy journey.

There are only two things that I didn’t like with the book. One, the cheesiness. Oh my goodness it was a lot, especially when it came to dialogue & I got second hand embarrassment. The second is the plot lines. The book goes back & forth and there’s so much happening, at times I felt like I skipped on something only to realise nope, we’ve just moved on.

All round I loved the books. It’s interesting, fascinating and easy to get through, having you wanting to know what will happen next. It’s a book that can be enjoyed by both fantasy and non fantasy readers.
