Reader, ever since Text Book Centre CBD opened I have been there a total of 7 times in a span of 2 weeks! I honestly have no excuse other than I love books. I have been there with friends and also by myself, and one thing that is constant is that I can’t stop browsing for books. Browsing for books is just as fun as getting them and I take this activity very seriously. 🤭
Lately there are a couple of books I can’t stop thinking about. I go to TBC, look at them, say goodbye with the hope of coming back to get them. I have a loooong list of books I want but there are 9 that I just can’t stop thinking about.
1.Writers & Lovers by Lily King.
Ever since I saw this book on booktube last year, I have had this need to read it.
2. The Forty Rules of Love by Elif Shafak.
This year I’m reading Elif Shafak backlist titles and this is one book that has come highly recommended. Not mention I loved Honour.
3. The Book Thief by Marks Zusak.
This is another book that has been highly recommended to me, and I have been wanting to read it for the last 5 years.
4. Room by Emma Donoghue.
Here’s the thing, I read Room last year on Scribd but I ended up giving it 2 stars, and it’s not until later that I realised I read it at the wrong time and in the wrong format. So now I want to reread it in physical copy and see if I’ll change my mind, and rating.
5. Britt Marie Was Here by Fredrik Backman.
I read and loved A Man Called Ove (read my review here) and Fredrik Backman has become an autobuy author for me. I want to read everything he has ever written and will be writing.
6. The Cousins by Karen M. McManus.
I was part of a campaign for The Cousins (read my review here) last year and I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately I read a digital arc, and I need the physical copy on my shelf. It’s one of those books you just have to read.
7. On The Come Up by Angie Thomas
8. Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas
9. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
I think I’m one of the few people who haven’t read Angie Thomas yet and I want to rectify that as soon as possible. From the reviews I have read and watched, she’s brilliant!
Honestly, have no business of even looking at new books, if you follow me on Instagram you know, I have added quite the stack to my to-be-read, but then again buying books and reading them are 2 different activities. Will I cave and buy some? Who knows, stay tuned!
Ps: I accept books as gifts. 😊
What 3 books are on your wishlist?
I also really want to read the Book Thief. It is one of those books that is constantly talked about on how extraordinary it is.
Is the Cousins a thriller?
Right? At this point I’m having major FOMO for The Book Thief.
Yes The Cousins is Thriller, Young Adult Thriller
I’ve been aiming for The Book Thief! Hopefully I’ll get it soon. Also the books by Angie are up on my list! Nice post!
Thank you! I hope you get to read them
I can see TBC brought in The Authenticity Project. They have really upped their game.
For sure!
You’re a certified TBC addict now.
On The Come Up by Angie Thomas, Think Like Monk A Monk by Jay Shetty and The Secret Daily Teachings by Rhonda Byrne top my wishlist.
Hahaha I can’t even dispute.
