Hey friends! I hope your week started off well and that you’re having a good day. ❤️
Lately I have been watching the 5 star TBR (to be read) predictions on booktube and I thought it would be fun to do. I have 6 books that are on my TBR and I am basically going to tell you why I think they will end up being 5 star reads.
- The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma
I’ll admit, I am cheating a little bit here. I have read TMWSHF before, back in 2016, and I absolutely loved it!! In fact, it’s my all time favourite book. The reason it is back on my TBR shelf is because, when I read it, it was a borrowed copy and I have this need to reread once again before the year ends.
- State of Wonder by Ann Patchett.
I came across Ann Patchett last year when I read her book Truth and Beauty, read my review here, and I loved the book so much so I made it a goal to read all her books. She writes so beautifully I am itching to read this one soon, possibly in September.
- The Colour Purple by Alice Walker
The Colour Purple was first introduced to me back in high school. I read it as a reference in a book and I always said myself I’ll read it but years later, here we are. From the synopsis it promises to be a gruesome, harrowing book, with a lot of pain and sadness and call me a sadist but those are the best books!
- Ghost Wall by Sarah Moss
“Teenage Silvie and her parents are living in a hut in Northumberland as an exercise in experimental archaeology. Her father is a difficult man, obsessed with imagining and enacting the harshness of Iron Age life. Haunting Silvie’s narrative is the story of a bog girl, a young woman sacrificed by those closest to her, and the landscape both keeps and reveals the secrets of past violence and ritual as the summer builds to its harrowing climax.”
Just by the synopsis I know I am in for a huge treat and I have a feeling the book won’t disappoint. I am actually currently reading Ghost Wall at the moment, which comes out on September 20th 2018, and based on the few pages I have read I know this is going to be a favourite.
- What It Means When A Man Falls From The Sky by Lesley Nneka Arimah
It seems everyone and their mother has read this book and I have decided to follow the hype and read it myself. What It Means When A Man Falls From The Sky (Whew! That title is a mouth full) is a book of short stories and I don’t want to lie to myself and think I’ll love each story (though I really hope I will) but I presume I’ll enjoy a good amount of them.
- Honeymoon by James Patterson and Howard Roughan
It’s been a while since I read, and enjoyed a good thriller and who better than James Patterson to give me what I need? From what I have seen and partially read James is a phenomenal writer when it comes to thrillers and I can’t wait to read this one.
All these are books I’ll be reading in the coming weeks and I’ll definitely let you know if they live up to my expectations. Or not.
What is one book on your TBR shelf that you predict is going to be a 5 star read?
Have you read any of these books on my list? Did you like them?

Great list! I hope that you will enjoy all these books, even the rereads. I read The Colour Purple a few years ago and it has stayed with me since. Best of luck and happy reading 🙂

I think The Color Purple is definitely a 5 star read! I read it about 8 years ago, but like the other commenter, it has stayed with me. I really hope you enjoy it when you get round to reading it.
I’ve acquired quite a few new books recently which I almost never get to do so am excited to get stuck into them. I might actually do this tag to share what I think the 5 star predictions will be and I’ll link back to your post <3

I really want to read The Color Purple (I love the musical) but I haven’t got around to it yet. I’ll have to add it to my ‘get this if you come across a copy’ list!

I hope you get to find it. 🙂

Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the video to make your point. You clearly know what youre talking about, why waste your intelligence on just posting videos to your site when you could be giving us something enlightening to read?|
