Hello, loves. I hope July is being good to you. On the 26th of June my blog turned 3. I still can’t believe it has been three years. Wow!
I have spent the last few days reflecting on the journey it has been, and honestly, I wouldn’t change a thing. If you are new to Suckerforcoffe – hi & welcome 😊- and you are curious about the name and the genesis of it all, you can find a detailed post here.
I’d like to believe in the 3 years I have been actively blogging I have gained some insights, rather some experience. Today I want to share 3 things that I know for sure. I genuinely believe that they have made me a better blogger.
1. Write what you know, and love. I can’t stress this enough. People can perceive when something is forced. If you love what you are writing, others will too.
2. Blogging fatigue is real. Suckerforcoffe is a niche blog where I mainly focus on books and bookish stuff. Reading the books and writing reviews are two different ‘jobs’ and it can get overwhelming at times. Taking breaks from time to time helps as it gives you a chance to recharge.
3. A notebook and pen. There are so many tools that help, and make blogging easier. For me the two that I constantly reach out for is my notebook and pen. Ideas tend to come to me at odd times and places and if I don’t put it down immediately, I forget them. Your phone’s notes will work too, but any chance to buy a new notebook, right?
I have learnt a lot through blogging, made amazing friends in the community and discovered so many books. I can’t wait to see how Suckerforcoffe grows in the coming months, years.
What’s the one thing you know for sure? What advice would you give to a new blogger?

Happy blogiversary to you! I wish you many more wonderful milestones.
I totally agree with all your tips, especially number 2 on taking breaks. One more tip that I would add is on the importance of interactions. Blogging is interesting in that you receive back the love that you give 🙂

Thank you. 💞
I definitely agree. I realized I actually have to curve out time to read the blogs and bloggers I follow.

My reading intensified when I came across your blog. I was amazed and inspired to read more. And boy, I have come across characters that I like and relate to. I owe that to you. Continue with the good work, and cheers to many more posts!

Spot on post you have here. I absolutely agree with all of your points. We for sure need breaks from time to time in order to recharge and renew our blogging brains. I feel if we neglect that part of us that says take a step back, we will wind up sounding forced and our unease will spill into our posts. I also love the notebook and pen but. I’m a blogger and a writer so I almost am never without a notebook and pen. 😊💖 wonderful post.

Thank you so much for stopping by, and reading. ❤️
I feel like most bloggers forget to take a step back and end up consumed by their blog.

Happy blogiversary!
I couldn’t agree more about reading and reviewing being two different jobs and sometimes sucking the life out of you! Both hobbies are time-consuming and require loving what you do. I like to take a two-week holiday every year, and breaks when I need it.
Here’s to many more blog anniversaries!

Thank you! ❤️ I should adapt two week holiday idea. Sounds great.

Its such as you learn my thoughts! You seem to grasp so much about this, such as you wrote the e book in it or something. I think that you simply can do with some p.c. to force the message home a little bit, but instead of that, that is magnificent blog. An excellent read. I’ll certainly be back.|
