Hello lovelies!

Whoa, July. Where did you get to? As I sit here, with coffee and layered in heavy sweater (hello Nairobi weather?), it’s 7pm on a Friday. It certainly has been a month of crazy and wonderful.

How was yours?

This post is a bit delayed because other than being busy, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to post but here we are… let’s just go with it.

In case you didn’t know, Suckerforcoffe turned one 2 weeks ago! Eeeep!! A huge milestone for me as I have come a long way. It most certainly hasn’t been easy but I can’t complain.

Fun facts about Suckerforcoffe…

It was originally formed on 26th June, 2016 but I put up my first post on 20th July,2016. Which is the day I consider my blogiversary.

What’s in a name?

I get asked a lot what my name means but there is no hidden meaning about it. Suckerforcoffe means just that, Sucker for Coffee. I am a girl who loves her caffeine and I needed a moniker that depicts just that. It just so happens for a moment I forgot how to spell while setting up my tumblr account( no, there’s no edit option), and for uniformity in my social media, Suckerforcoffe I became.

The face behind the name…

I don’t think I have ever introduced myself properly on here. *clears throat* Hi! My name is Faith, known to many as Fay. An old soul. Flowerchild. Coffee drinker. Notebook hoarder. Lover of life and all things bookish.

I have been a reader since I was 9years old and avid reader since 2016. I don’t stick to one genre of books, I do, however, have a favorite book… The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma. *pssst…please go read it!*More often than not you’ll find me in between the pages of a book.

Why did I start blogging?

For the longest time possible I have always wanted to start a blog but always managed to talk myself out of it, until one day, I didn’t. I wanted to create my own space where I can talk about books and muse about. With the help and much support from Simthil, who helped with the process, Suckerforcoffe was born! She was also the first friend I made in the book community!Thank you Simone , you are a total babe 🙂

Lessons I have learnt from blogging…

  1. There are days you won’t feel like blogging, and that’s okay.
  2. Being true to yourself is very important. Be authentic. Don’t compare you work to other people.
  3. Planning and organization is key. Knowing when and what to post. Learning how to prioritize.
  4. Time management. *still struggling with this one* learning how to balance blogging and school work has been challenging for me but I have managed to work through it.
  5. Your favorite book(s) might not be others favorite. We all like different books and/or genres and we should respect that.

In a nutshell…

I want to say a big thank you, for every follow, comment, like and share from you guys. It means a lot to me that there are people out there who read and enjoy my work. Thank you for your support.

To the people I have met through blogging (bookstagram + twitter), you people are the best and I love and cherish each and every one of you.

Happy new month and a wonderful day ahead! 🙂
