Hey guys!
Anyone excited about the weekend like I am? It’s been quite the week.

Today I come to you with a book recommendation. Possibly two. One of my goals last year and this year was to explore more authors and Mark Twain is one of them. I got The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer late last year and only finished reading them a few weeks back.
I started with reading Huck Finn and I’ll be honest, I found it difficult to get into, mostly because I got so confused with the many dialects and had to put on hold. When I got around to picking it up again, I was ready to tackle it. I’m so glad I gave it a second shot because I ended up liking the book.

Huck Finn’s sense of adventure makes you wander along with him, taking part in his whims.

Tom Sawyer is another character as a whole. His shenanigans had me excited and laughing through the whole book. It was a breeze reading Tom Sawyer and by the time I was finishing it, I wanted more.

Tip: I would highly recommend you start with The Adventures of Tom Sawyer first. I realized way after I was deep into Huck Finn that it’s the prequel. That’s where we’re introduced to Huckleberry Finn and I believe if I had started with Tom Sawyer, I would have understood Huck Finn better from my first attempt reading it.

The writing style is more or less the same, except for the fact that these two boys are different in terms of how they speak and it shows in the books. Regardless, I liked both books and if you’re looking for new reads, I definitely recommend.

It’s the weekend, what are you reading?

Have you read any of these? What did you think of them?

Do you know of any books similar to these ones?
