“So many books, so little time.” Whoever said this was spot on. I get slightly panicky when I look at my unread shelf because when am I going to read all 60 books? And that’s just the physical shelf.

I tend to get quite overwhelmed when I’m faced with a big to be read (tbr) so one thing I like to do is tackle it in a stack of five. Today I want to share with you the 5 books I want to get to soon, more like priority reads. This list is not set in stone but at this moment it’s what I want to read.

All these books that I’ll be mentioning are available at Text Book Centre, you can pass by the CBD branch or even buy them online. Now on to my list:

1. We Are All Birds of Uganda by Hafsa Zayyan.

If I’m being honest, this is a total cover buy. When I first saw it posted by the publisher the cover is what drew me in then I read the Synopsis and I knew it is a book that I’ll enjoy.

2. His Only Wife by Peace Adzo Medie

I saw this book likened to The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives and if you’ve read my review here you know it’s one of my favourite books. His Only Wife is one of my anticipated reads of 2021 and I can’t wait to read it.

3. The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna

I have wanted to read this one ever since I saw it announced. It’s a Young Adult fantasy book about a young girl who fights to save the world that is quite against her.

4. I Do Not Come To You By Chance by Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani

I first saw this book on Julie’s page, she was currently reading it and was quite enjoying it and I love me a good African Fiction so I had to get it.

5. One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M McManus

I did a blog tour of the 4th book, The Cousins, last year which I really loved so much so that I want to read book 1 to 3 and if I’m not wrong they can be read as standalones. One Of Us Is Lying is the first book and I have only heard great things about it so I can’t wait to get lost in the pages.

I got all these books at Text Book Centre so why not pass by the CBD branch and cope yourself a book, or two! Let’s read together.

Do you see any favourites? Which one should I pick up first?
