Hi there friends… This post has been a long time coming so today is a good time as any to post it. I reflect on the year 2018 has been & share a few goals I have 2019. I hope you like it.
Books Read
I read 24 book less than I did in 2017 but I still achieved my goal of 40 by reading 65 books and I’m actually quite okay with the number.
I read 18,423 pages across 64 books (one book isn’t on good reads)
The average length being 287pages, the shortest book being Blush Pink Rose by Fawn Bailey (58pages) and the longest book being A Brief History of Seven Killings by James Marlon (600 pages)
The most popular book I read was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by JK Rowling and the least popular book I read was Wine and Water by Hannah Onoguwe. (I have a review here)
My average rating for 2018 was 3.6 stars.
On The Blog
Suckerforcoffe turned 2 last year August if am being honest, I completely forgot about it until way later. As a gift to myself I decided to finally get my own domain and if you haven’t noticed it’s suckerforcoffe.com ? Let me know what you think of the new layout. That being said there are few blog posts with broken links and some need pictures updates so bare with me as I get to fixing that.
Blog Posts
I put out 55 blog posts, what? Among them Book Reviews, Coffee With Fay and I introduced two new categories From-my-bookshelf and Coffee Break
I also did my first discussion post, which you can find here. I’m actually super proud of it. Let me know your thoughts!
Reading Challenges
I did a couple of reading challenges among them Femme March, Readathons and Victober. It also did Mrs D’Arcy reading challenge & Victoria literature challenges. My full wrap ups will be up hopefully in the coming weeks.
Notable Events…
I joined the Textbook Centre book club, which I have been terrible at keeping up with but I’m continuing with it this year and hopefully I’ll read all the 12 books
Last year I got to attended my first ever book signing, where I met Zukiswa Wanner author of London Cape Town Joburg. She’s such a lovely woman and gave me some pretty great book recommendations.
For 2019…
- Along side my reading goals, I want to be able to blog constantly (this will happen as soon as I fix my blogging calendar )
- I also what to put out one discussion post a month for my Coffee Break series.
- Continue with my Coffee With Fay series, where I talk to pretty amazing Readers and/or bloggers. Watch out for the next one where I talk with the lovely Sifuna.
- I also hope to write more reviews. I love writing them and I have been reading some pretty amazing books that I’d love to talk about.
And Lastly…
I want to say thank you to each and every one of you readers. For your likes, views and comments. I appreciate them. To my new followers, welcome and do say hi. ☺
